Overview

The charger is a very powerful special infected. Not only does it have the ability to deal large amounts of damage but can also separate a survivor from the group. To help you use the charger to it’s fullest potential as well as defend against it as the survivors we have mad a guide that will teach you everything you need to know about the charger.

Hit Points: 600
Main Attack: Charge
Secondary Attack: Punch

What is the Charger?
The charger is a “mini-tank” infected who uses a charge attack that acts as a powerful means to separate the survivors. The charger will also do damage to any survivors that are standing near to it’s main target making it an ideal tool to devastate a team that is going through a narrow passage way or group closely together.

What are some tell-tale signs of the Charger?
The charger has a very deep grunt when he spawns and moves around waiting to attack the survivors. As the charger is about to do it’s primary attack it will make a slightly different grunting noise that should be a cue to look around for any team mate that may have been hit.

How to defend against the Charger
First be aware any time you are moving down a hallway or a narrow area as a Charger can send a group of Survivors flying. It is also not recommended to jump unless you’re absolutely sure you are out of the way because if a Charger makes contact with a Survivor who is in the air they will be sent flying also and a long enough drop will be an instant incapacitation.

Be aware of ledges with large drops or on the edge of water because if you are Charged you could be killed instantly with little to no chance of a defibrillator.

How to use the charger
When using the charger the most important thing to keep in mind is that once your press right trigger and commit to your primary attack there is no turning back. Your charger will dash forward in a straight line. You will not be able to change his path even if the survivors move or if your initial aim was a little off. If you do miss your target the recharge time is quite long resulting in a wasted attempt. To avoid this there are some basic things you can do when attacking as the charger:

    * Get as close as possible to the survivors before attacking.
    * Attack survivors who are grouped close together
    * Target survivors who are preoccupied by common infected.

By following the 3 simple tips above you should drastically increase your chances of making contact with atleast one survivor when preforming the chargers primary attack. It is also important to keep in mind that the charger is a very powerful infected as not only does it do massive damage but it can seperate the survivors. To make the best use of your charger we recommend you follow these tips:

    * Let the charger start the attack (send it in first, or after the boomer).
    * Use at same time as smoker and jockey to cause drastic separation amongst the survivors

Attack Description and Damage Info
As its name implies the Charger will charge towards the survivors causing 10 stun damage upon contact of it’s main target as well as any close by survivors that are in its path. After initial contact with it’s main target the charger will actually carry it up to 100 feet away from the group or until it hit’s an object. At this point it will slam the survivor into the ground causing 15 damaged approximately every 2 seconds until it is killed. If you miss your charge effectively missing all the survivors the charger can either punch the survivors causing 10 damage per punch or the charger can wait for its main attack to recharge which takes 10 seconds.
